Unfortunately, transferring messages from Android to iPhone isn’t as simple as transferring other items. But it’s much easier if you have a Samsung Galaxy, an iPhone, and a USB adapter cable. Samsung includes an app that makes it a cinch to transfer messages between platforms. So, here’s how to transfer SMS from Android to iPhone.

Get Your Adapter

Transfer SMS From Android to iPhone

One of the first things you want to do is configure your iPhone to transfer SMS messages. To configure iPhone for SMS text transfer:

On your iPhone, launch Settings from the home screen.Tap your profile at the top of the following screen.Select iCloud from the list of items.Swipe down on the next screen and ensure the Messages option is toggled On.

Transfer SMS from Android to iPhone

You need to use the Smart Switch app to transfer texts from your Android device to your iPhone. Your Galaxy phone should come with it preinstalled, but if you need it, you can download the Samsung Smart Switch app. To transfer your SMS messages to iPhone, do the following:

Launch the Smart Switch app on your Samsung Galaxy phone.If you haven’t used it or it’s been a while, you may need to update the app — tap the UpdateAfter the update completes, select Receive data from the screen.Choose the iPhone/iPad option as the source.Plug the adapter into your Galaxy phone and connect it to your iPhone via the USB Lighting cable.To begin the transfer process, you’ll need to allow the Samsung Galaxy to access the iPhone. Enter your iPhone’s PIN and press the Trust After that, tap Next on the Galaxy phone.The Galaxy will scan for items to transfer.When it’s complete, you’ll get a list of items (all selected). Tap All to clear the list and choose Messages.After selecting Messages, tap the Transfer button at the bottom of the screen.Your messages will transfer SMS from Android to iPhone. The amount of time it takes varies based on the number of messages you have.If you want to keep an eye on the transfer process, select the Keep screen on option.Once the process completes, you’ll be notified that the transfer was successful.You’ll also get a notification to remind you to turn off iMessage on your iPhone. That ensures you get all the messages.A few other screens will appear that you can tap through and tap the Done button and start viewing the transferred messages on your iPhone.

Other Android Devices

Transferring texts and other items from a Samsung Galaxy to iPhone is a piece of cake using the Samsung Switch app. However, it’s not easy if you have a Google Pixel or another Android phone or tablet. You can transfer messages over during the initial setup process and switch phones. So, if you’re Pixel is already configured, you need to use a third-party app to transfer messages. A good app for backing up your texts and restoring them on Android is SMS Backup & Restore. Or you can try a desktop solution from MobileTrans. Of course, you could always reset your phone, but that’s a lot of work to get SMS messages.

Transferring SMS from Android to iPhone
