Getting an answer from Instagram
There are many ways to get an answer from Instagram. You could send them a direct message, you can search through their followers, or you can always use the search bar. The quickest way to know if someone follows you on Instagram is by sending them a direct message and asking them if they have followed you. If they send a response back saying yes, then you’ve got your answer!
Another quick way to find out is by searching through their followers. If they haven’t followed you back yet and they’re still following other people, it’s a sign they haven’t seen your request yet.
If that doesn’t work and all of their followers are following back, then ask them if their username is on your friend list! If it is, then congratulations! You just found out whether or not someone follows you on Instagram!
How to tell if someone follows you on Instagram
To find out if someone follows you on Instagram, visit your profile and click the three dots in the top right corner of your cover photo. There you’ll be able to see a list of everyone who has followed you. If they’re not on this list, then they haven’t followed you yet. If they are on this list, then it’s a bit trickier to tell if they’ve been following back or not.
However, there are a few ways to figure it out:
On the right side of their name, below their bio, is a place that says “Followers.” If it says “0,” then they haven’t been following you back and have either unfollowed you or never followed you in the first place. If it says “x” (where x represents how many followers they have), then that means that person has been following since the day you followed them on Instagram.

First, you can view who’s following you on Instagram by going to your profile. If they’re not following back, then they’re not following you.
Secondly, if they are following you but haven’t followed back, then they’ve listed their username in their bio.
Lastly, if they are following you and have followed back, then their username is listed in the “to” field of a direct message that they’ve sent to you.
In order to contact them on Instagram and find out their username, simply copy and paste the direct message that’s been sent to you into a new comment or send it privately to yourself so that only you can see it.
